The Philadelphia Daily New has a good article summarizing the facts and current atmosphere leading up to the second Vioxx trial, scheduled to begin September 12, 2005, in New Jersey. The venue, and possibly the jury attitude, will be quite different from the first Vioxx trial in Angleton, Texas. Merck is looking forward to a more favorable judicial setting this second time,as the trial will be in Merck’s home state.
Thousands of potential claimants, and hundreds of lawyers will be watching this second trial very closely.
