Texas May Sue to Stop Deceptive Allstate TV Ad

Allstate Insurance Company has been running a television commercial in Texas designed to get consumers to increase the amount of liability insurance they carry. While I agree that many people do need higher liability limits (and Texas should raise the woefully inadequate minimum required limit of $20,000 per person and $40,000 per incident), Allstate shouldn’t lie to television viewers in order to sell more insurance.

The commercial states that a family lost their home because they were sued after an automobile collision. That absolutely cannot happen in Texas. Our constitution protects a person’s home from automobile injury lawsuits.

The Fort Worth Star Telegram has an article on that subject today.

About This Blog

The title of this blog reflects my attitude toward those government agencies and insurance companies that routinely mistreat injured or disabled people. As a Dallas, Texas lawyer, I've spent more than 45 years trying to help those poor folk, and I have been frustrated daily by the actions of the people on the other side of their claims. (Sorry if I offended you...)
