Merck To Appeal Latest Plaintiff Trial Victory

A heavily Merck-biased story appeared on a Newark, New Jersey business Web site today. New Jersey is the home of Merck, the manufacturer of Vioxx.

The story basically says Merck intents to appeal the verdict in the Leonel Garza trial in South Texas, and gives reasons for the appeal. Merck is still saying they will try every case and appeal every adverse verdict. Some plaintiff lawyers think that stance may change once the Statute of Limitations in most states expires in September of this year. Merck does not want to give any indication of mass settlements before that date because they don’t want to encourage the filing of more law suits.

About This Blog

The title of this blog reflects my attitude toward those government agencies and insurance companies that routinely mistreat injured or disabled people. As a Dallas, Texas lawyer, I've spent more than 45 years trying to help those poor folk, and I have been frustrated daily by the actions of the people on the other side of their claims. (Sorry if I offended you...)
