Chrysler has announced the recall of about 111,700 Jeep Grand Cherokee sport utility vehicles after learning that electric seat heaters may overheat, posing a fire hazard. The recall affects those Grand Cherokee models produced in 2003 and 2004.
Chrysler has learned of 32 alleged reports of fire, according to a company spokesperson, although no related accidents have been reported. Chrysler will replace the seat heating elements at no cost to owners.
