Link of the Day – Education, Small Business, Real Estate, And Estate Planning Blog

For the month of September, I am going to use my Link of the Day feature to highlight legal blogs that I think are interesting and useful. Some may not be directly related to personal injury or Social Security disability law, but all of us who represent injured and disabled people occasionally need help in other areas. Some are new, and some have been mentioned here before. Today’s entry is:

Charlottesville, Virginia lawyers Holly Hilton and Jennifer McKeever have a new blog about Education, Small Business, Real Estate and Estate Planning. While the last three practice areas are reasonably common, it’s hard (at least in the Dallas area) to find a lawyer practicing school law who isn’t just representing school districts.

But at Hilton | McKeever, Holly and Jennifer work with parents and students to ensure the right to get a quality education is protected. That work includes:

  • Special education rights including due process hearings and IEP meetings,
  • Discipline issues including School Board hearings and appeals for long term suspension and expulsion,
  • Truancy,
  • Enrollment in schools, and
  • No Child Left Behind.

About This Blog

The title of this blog reflects my attitude toward those government agencies and insurance companies that routinely mistreat injured or disabled people. As a Dallas, Texas lawyer, I've spent more than 45 years trying to help those poor folk, and I have been frustrated daily by the actions of the people on the other side of their claims. (Sorry if I offended you...)
