Heartburn Drugs May Increase Risk Of Hip Fractures

The Associated Press reported today that a British medical study shows that taking certain popular heartburn drugs such as Nexium, Prevacid or Prilosec for a year or more can substantially increase the risk of a broken hip in older patients.

One theory mentioned in the study is that  these drugs might make it more difficult for the body to absorb calcium, which can lead to weaker bones and subsequent fractures.

About This Blog

The title of this blog reflects my attitude toward those government agencies and insurance companies that routinely mistreat injured or disabled people. As a Dallas, Texas lawyer, I've spent more than 45 years trying to help those poor folk, and I have been frustrated daily by the actions of the people on the other side of their claims. (Sorry if I offended you...)
