For the month of March, I am going to use my Link of the Day feature to highlight legal blogs that I think are interesting and useful. Some may not be directly related to personal injury or Social Security disability law, but all of us who represent injured and disabled people occasionally need help in other areas. Today’s entry in March of the Blogs:
Attorney D. Todd Smith is an appellate specialist and civil litigator based in Austin, Texas. Todd has been mentioned here before, but he has a new blog, named the Texas Appellate Law Blog. Todd says “The Texas Appellate Law Blog was created to serve as an online resource for trial lawyers, solo and small firm practitioners, and others who may have matters pending before the Texas appellate courts. In addition to substantive posts containing civil appellate practice tips, resources, and news, the blog contains links to court sites and other tools useful to anyone facing an appeal.”
Attorney Smith opened his practice after spending nearly a decade at the international law firm of Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P., where he was a member of the appellate and litigation practice groups. Before joining Fulbright, Todd served a two-year clerkship with the Honorable Raul A. Gonzalez of the Supreme Court of Texas.
Todd represents plaintiffs and defendants in all phases of civil appeals and original proceedings, including preparation of written briefs and presentation of oral argument. He has handled matters before many of the Texas appellate courts, the Texas Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
