I first wrote about the U.S. government’s Do Not Call list in a post back on January 1, 2006. Unfortunately, when the government set up this way out of tele marketing annoyances, they put the burden on the consumer to renew after five years. So now the first numbers placed on the list will start to fall off in June of 2008.
To enroll your phone number again, just visit DoNotCall.gov or call (888) 382-1222. It’s a very simple process. To check to see if your number is about to expire, visit the site and click on the “Verify a Registration” button. Enter the phone number and an e-mail address and a verification e-mail will be sent with the expiration date.
