Children’s Recreational Dirt Bikes’ Removal from Dealers Seen as Unanticipated Consequence of Lead Law

McClatchy reported that as an “unanticipated consequence” of the recent lead law, “dirt bikes and other recreational vehicles tailored for kids” have been pulled from the floors of dealers because they may be in violation. Rep. Michael Burgess, D-Texas, “wrote a letter to the Consumer Product Safety Commission urging an exemption for such vehicles” that, “I don’t think anyone anticipated this … that we were putting products that would never create a hazard out of the hands of people.”

From the American Association for Justice news release.

About This Blog

The title of this blog reflects my attitude toward those government agencies and insurance companies that routinely mistreat injured or disabled people. As a Dallas, Texas lawyer, I've spent more than 45 years trying to help those poor folk, and I have been frustrated daily by the actions of the people on the other side of their claims. (Sorry if I offended you...)
