Featured Link – Texas Local Court Rules

Texas Local Rules is a great site that links out to local court rules of many Texas counties. For lawyers who practice trial work in multiple counties, this is an excellent resource. This is the description from the site:

In addition to the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, civil and criminal Texas courts (county, state, federal, appellate) have local rules to which evidence, litigants and witnesses must adhere.

Local rules express the Texas court’s positions on:

  • exchanging exhibits prior to trial
  • dress codes
  • sample and form orders
  • how to set a hearing
  • rules of decorum and procedure

Lawyers should check these local rules before filing and trying a case in a new county.

This is a list of Texas courts that have made these local rules available online. If you know of any local rule for a court that is available online and you do not see a link here, email us and we’ll link to that site post haste.

Thank you for visiting our site, and be sure to visit our sponsors so that this site can continue to operate!

About This Blog

The title of this blog reflects my attitude toward those government agencies and insurance companies that routinely mistreat injured or disabled people. As a Dallas, Texas lawyer, I've spent more than 45 years trying to help those poor folk, and I have been frustrated daily by the actions of the people on the other side of their claims. (Sorry if I offended you...)
