GOP in Oklahoma Pushes for Lawsuit Reform

The AP (3/8, Talley) reported, “Republican lawmakers eager for new civil justice guidelines that would change the way Oklahomans file and litigate lawsuits are putting the squeeze on their opponents with a flurry of legislation that offers a variety of options to get some form of lawsuit reform through the Legislature and on Gov. Brad Henry’s desk.” Divided by party, the “House…adopted a 228-page bill that would make sweeping changes to the state’s civil justice system that supporters say are needed to block frivolous lawsuits and lower the price companies and doctors pay for liability insurance.”

From the American Association for Justice news release.

About This Blog

The title of this blog reflects my attitude toward those government agencies and insurance companies that routinely mistreat injured or disabled people. As a Dallas, Texas lawyer, I've spent more than 45 years trying to help those poor folk, and I have been frustrated daily by the actions of the people on the other side of their claims. (Sorry if I offended you...)
