Samsung Recalls Cell Phones That May Not Call 911

Samsung is voluntarily recalling about 160,000 cell phones that might refuse to make an emergency call when in a no-service area. The Federal Communications Commission requires that a wireless phone be able to reach a 911 call center even when out of range. The device should be able to piggyback off another network in the area.

The phones in question are the “Jitterbug” models. You can log onto the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s Web site to view the products that have been recalled.

About This Blog

The title of this blog reflects my attitude toward those government agencies and insurance companies that routinely mistreat injured or disabled people. As a Dallas, Texas lawyer, I've spent more than 45 years trying to help those poor folk, and I have been frustrated daily by the actions of the people on the other side of their claims. (Sorry if I offended you...)
