There is a new free discount prescription card available to all residents of Dallas County, and to many others around the country. The card, called Coast2CoastRX, is the product of Financial Marketing Concepts, Inc., of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. I got one, and I didn’t see any “catches” to the plan. The card is accepted by thousands of pharmacies across the country, and gives you a substantial discount on many prescription drugs. It even covers prescriptions for your pets!
Again, there is no cost to obtain this card. You simply go to their Web site at www.coast2coastrx.com/dallastx and fill in a little information. Then you get a page with your personalized card on it. Print the page and cut out the card and you’re good to go. Besides the discounts on prescriptions, the card also provides substantial discounts for lab and imaging tests so uninsured residents will be able to save even more money on their healthcare costs for these benefits.
There’s a key word in that last sentence — uninsured. If you already have prescription drug health insurance, this card probably won’t save you as much money as your insurance plan does. But for those people with no prescription insurance the card provides a valuable benefit
