McDonald’s Recalls 12,000,000 Cadmium-Tainted Shrek Glasses

The Associated Press is one of many news outlets reporting on the recall by McDonald’s of 12,000,000 “Shrek” drinking glasses because they may be contaminated with cadmium. The cadmium is in the paint on the outside of the glasses, which of course are intended for use by kids. If you received one of these glasses you should not use it again. Cadmium is a known carcinogen that research shows also can cause bone softening and severe kidney problems. McDonald’s will soon announce its policy regarding refunds. The glasses were sold for about $2.00 each.

Cadmium has caused recalls recently of cheap jewelry made in China. The scary thing about this McDonald’s recall is that the drinking glasses were manufactured in the United States. This could be a larger problem than previously suspected.

About This Blog

The title of this blog reflects my attitude toward those government agencies and insurance companies that routinely mistreat injured or disabled people. As a Dallas, Texas lawyer, I've spent more than 45 years trying to help those poor folk, and I have been frustrated daily by the actions of the people on the other side of their claims.
