McDonald’s Will Refund $3 for “Shrek” Glasses

I wrote here about the recall of 12,000,000 “Shrek” glasses by McDonald’s. Now the company has agreed to refund $3.00 to anyone who purchased a glass from them.

This is fairly generous, as the glasses cost $1.99 with a food purchase and $2.49 alone. Of course to get the refund, customers must return the glasses to a McDonald’s and fill out a form. I’m sure McDonald’s assumes that while there, the customers will buy more meals, thus letting McDonald’s profit from the whole affair.

Still, it’s a fair settlement offer, and since McDonald’s wouldn’t have a record of the names and addresses of purchasers, it’s really the only way to handle the refund.

About This Blog

The title of this blog reflects my attitude toward those government agencies and insurance companies that routinely mistreat injured or disabled people. As a Dallas, Texas lawyer, I've spent more than 45 years trying to help those poor folk, and I have been frustrated daily by the actions of the people on the other side of their claims.
