American Academy of Pediatrics: Crib Bumper Pads Pose Risk Of Death

The Chicago Tribune reports updated American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines say that crib bumper pads “should not be used” because “there is no evidence that bumper pads prevent injuries and say they pose a potential risk of suffocation, strangulation and entrapment.” The issue is “still being hotly debated” and the Consumer Product Safety Commission has “hesitated to take a stance on the safety of bumper pads” despite getting “reports for years of babies suffocating against bumper pads.”

From the American Association of Justice press release.

About This Blog

The title of this blog reflects my attitude toward those government agencies and insurance companies that routinely mistreat injured or disabled people. As a Dallas, Texas lawyer, I've spent more than 45 years trying to help those poor folk, and I have been frustrated daily by the actions of the people on the other side of their claims. (Sorry if I offended you...)
