The Columbus (OH) Dispatch reports researchers analyzing data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and J.D. Power and Associates found “that when recalls included more than one million vehicles, less than half were repaired.” Zach Doran, president of the Ohio Automobile Dealers Association, calls this issue “recall fatigue.” Doran explains that the exponential increase in the volume of recalls added to a shortage of automotive parts has diluted peoples’ sense of urgency to take their car into the dealership for repairs.
