
WRBL-TV Columbus, GA reports there is a nationwide trend in the rise of auto insurance rates due to increasing accident rates, most likely cause by distracted driving. State Farm agent Faye Perdue said, “The fatality rate increased by 22%. That’s huge. People dying in car accidents. I really think that a lot of this is distracted driving.” Drowsy driving was recently added to list of causes of distracted driving by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
