Automakers Seek Legislation on Autonomous Vehicles

Automotive News reports that automakers and technology companies are increasing pressure on Congress to develop legislation on the development and testing of autonomous vehicles. The article explains that the industry wants to “guard against a tide of inconsistent state laws, or a draconian federal response to a deadly accident, that could jeopardize their investments.” The article notes that last year NHTSA “released guidelines for pre-deployment design and testing of autonomous vehicles, as well as for dividing responsibility between federal and state regulators.” The article adds that the Trump Administration plans to update the guidelines this summer.

About This Blog

The title of this blog reflects my attitude toward those government agencies and insurance companies that routinely mistreat injured or disabled people. As a Dallas, Texas lawyer, I've spent more than 45 years trying to help those poor folk, and I have been frustrated daily by the actions of the people on the other side of their claims. (Sorry if I offended you...)
