
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports, “A recent online survey conducted by Harris Poll for Travelers insurance shows that more than four out of 10 drivers fessed up to performing work-related functions on smartphones while behind the wheel.” According to statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, more than 3,470 people died in 2015 because of distracted driving. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution states, “The NHTSA defines distracted driving as ‘any activity that diverts attention from driving, including talking or texting on your phone, eating and drinking, talking to people in your vehicle, fiddling with the stereo, entertainment or navigation system.’”
