The Wall Street Journal reports Heidi King, the Deputy Administrator at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, is concerned that customers did not comprehend the urgency of Ford’s do-not-drive order for vehicles affected by the company’s Takata air bag recall. The Journal reports 40 million vehicles in the US have been recalled to replace Takata airbags, but only about half have been replaced, and the total number of vehicles recalled may reach 70 million.
