The Allentown (PA) Morning Call reports that a “frantic 911 call for an infant and three developmentally disabled adults locked in a hot Cadillac Escalade in Bethlehem Township,” Pennsylvania “serves as a cautionary tale that smart vehicle technology can sometimes thwart even the police, officials say.” According to the Morning Call, “research from AAA is also sounding the alarm about the increasing number of vehicles that come from virtually indestructible glass windows designed to keep passengers from being thrown from their vehicles in the event of a crash or rollover.” AAA “says the growing use of laminated glass could hinder a driver’s escape if the vehicle catches fire or enters a body of water and begins to sink.” General Motors spokesman Dan Flores “said the automaker strives to develop and implement safety improvements in Cadillac and all its models.”
