
Between 2015 and 2018, there were slightly more than 2,000 deaths from wrong-way driving crashes on divided highways, an average of about 500 deaths a year, up about 34% each year from 2010 to 2014. Alcohol-impairment, older age, and driving alone increase the risk of these crashes, according to a new analysis by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.
