Not long ago, there was a fascinating PBS documentary about the clockmakers who maintain the clock in the Elizabeth Tower, commonly referred to as Big Ben (although Big Ben is actually the largest of the five bells in the tower). If you don’t want to watch that, at least watch this short Youtube video about the workings of the clock.
